The National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences recently announced the list of annual major projects for the National Social Science Fund (NSSF) in 2020. Among a total of 338 projects, 11 were won by ECNU teachers and researchers, putting the university in a tie for the fourth place in China and the first place in Shanghai.
The university has seen a double-digit increase in the number of projects for three consecutive years.
The Department of History, Department of Philosophy and School of Urban and Regional Science won two projects each and the Department of Politics, Faculty of Economics and Management, Department of Chinese Language and Literature, School of Foreign Languages, and School of Physical Education and Health each made up for the remaining five. .
The NSSF project is the highest-level and most authoritative project in philosophy and social sciences. It demonstrates the highest level of research in China and substantially evaluates the overall scientific research capacity of universities on a national level.
To boost its scientific research capabilities, ECNU has made great effort to mobilize its teachers and researchers to apply for the fund. The achievements the university has made in recent years in this sector demonstrate its strength and development momentum in philosophical and social science research.
