Happy Chinese “Niú” Year to all ECNUers

Goodbye the Year of the Rat

Hello the Year of the Ox!

According to the Chinese zodiac, each person is assigned with one of the twelve zodiac animals,  i.e. rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog and pig, that form a rotating 12-year cycle.. The ox ranks second in this zodiacal cycle. 2021 is the Year of the Ox (i.e. niú nián).

In Chinese culture, the ox represents a symbol of strength, wealth, prosperity, diligence, and perseverance. After a year of concerted effort to fight against COVID-19, we hope that the Year of the Ox can bring good luck to everyone!

Happy Chinese “Niú” Year!

We wish you all a prosperous Year of the Ox, a year of health, wealth, good luck and happiness.
