March 4-5, a delegation led by Wang Hongzhou, Executive Vice Secretary of East China Nnormal Univeristy (ECNU) Party Committee, visited Wuhu City and discussed with Shan Xiangqian, Vice Secretary of Wuhu Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Wuhu, about comprehensive and in-depth university-city cooperation, particularly, pooling top-level experts to promote the high-quality leapfrog development of Wuhu Hospital Affiliated to ECNU.

At the meeting, Shan Xiangqian stressed that talents are key to the cooperation and Wuhu Hospital Affiliated to ECNU should establish and improve its talent-supporting mechanism and attract more talented personnel based on its platform advantages, Wang Hongzhou pointed out that ECNU shall integrate medical and hospital resources in Shanghai and strengthen linkage between Wuhu Hospital Affiliated to ECNU and Shanghai, in an effort to generate new breakthroughs.
On the afternoon of March 4, Wuhu Hospital Affiliated to ECNU held a cadre conference to announce the appointment of Prof. Zheng Feng from the Health Science Center of ECNU as the hospital’s executive vice president. At the conference, Wang Hongzhou expressed his hope that the development of the hospital could serve as a powerful clinical support for the development of ECNU’s health science discipline, which, in turn, will upgrade academic research of the hospital.
For two consecutive days, a series of seminars on the construction of the affiliated hospital and the health science discipline had been held in Wuhu Hospital Affiliated to ECNU. More than 10 experts from health-related disciplines and the scientific research management department of ECNU had communicated in depth with the clinical experts of the hospital on a number of issues, such as collaboration in teaching and research, efficient interaction between clinical practice and medical research, construction of the health science discipline, and the hospital’s development planning.
Since its official founding on November 14, 2020, Wuhu Hospital Affiliated to ECNU has been working as scheduled. At present, the Construction Plan of Wuhu Hospital Affiliated to ECNU has been officially released and substantial progress has been made in building the Wuhu Medical Center for Hearing and Speech.
To serve the concept of Healthy China in the Yangtze River Delta, ECNU shall work in cooperation with Wuhu City to build Wuhu Hospital Affiliated to ECNU into a bedrock of high-level medical talents, of top-level scientific research, of high-end medical services and of high-quality innovative development.
