The 14th International Congress on Mathematical Education (ICME-14) will officially kick off at East China Normal University (ECNU) tomorrow!
Hosted once every four years under the guidance of the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI), ICME is the highest level of international conferences on mathematical education.
ICME-14 is sponsored by ECNU and chaired by the university’s former President, Prof. Wang Jianpan, under the entrustment of the Chinese Mathematical Society. This is also thefirsttime for China to host the ICME.
Over 4,000 Mathematics researchers and educators from 129 countries will share their outstanding work in the field of mathematics and discuss priorities for future mathematics education both online and offline at ECNU.
At the opening ceremony of the ICME-14 to be held at ECNU gymnasium tomorrow 20:10 (UTC+8), President of International Mathematical Union Carlos Kenig will deliver a welcome speech online. Present at the ceremony will be President of International Commission on Mathematical Instruction FrederickLeung, President of ECNU Qian Xuhong, President of Chinese Mathematical Society Tian Gang. The ceremony will be presided by Prof. Wang Jianpan.
