LI Zhibin was born in March 1960 in the city of Lanzhou, Gansu Province. Li is a member of the Seventh Discipline Appraisal Group of the Academic Degree Commission of the State Council, a professor at the School of Information Science and Technology, vice president of ECNU, and a member of ECNU’s University Council.

Education & Work Experience

Li began to study in the Departments of Mathematics and Mechanics at Lanzhou University in 1978. He began to teach at Lanzhou University after receiving his master’s degree in mathematics in 1985. He received a Ph. D in mathematics from Lanzhou University in 1988. He was promoted to an associate professor and professor in 1992 and 1997 respectively. He began to work at ECNU in 2003. After that, he worked as the vice director of the School of Information Science, the School of Software Engineering, and the Graduate School at ECNU in succession. In December 2014, he became a vice president of ECNU.

Academic Background

Dr. Li engages in the research of computerized symbolic computation and its application in nonlinear science. He has pioneered research in the field of symbolic computation on analytical solutions of the nonlinear equations in mathematics and physics.

In past twenty years, he has been selected for the Program of Climbing and the “973 Program”. He has presided over several Shanghai and National Natural Science Fund Projects, as well as the Fund Project of the Doctoral Program of the Ministry of Education.

Dr. Li has published more than 100 SCI research papers in nonlinear mathematical physics, which have been quoted 1615 times. He is a recipient of the Excellent Young Teacher Award given by the Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation, the second-place prize of the National Excellent Teaching Achievement Award, and the Shanghai Dawn Scholar Award.
