In the big data era, statistics has been extensively applied in various fields of human activities, such as natural science, technology and engineering, economics, biomedicine and social sciences. Statistical methods play a vital role in making major breakthroughs in solving key problems.

Pu Xiaolong, CAAS vice director-general, hailed the new magazine has filled the void in the country, which yet to have an English-language magazine about statistics despite boasting a legion of outstanding experts in the field. The defect has impeded prompt publication and exchange of domestic independent research achievements, as well as promotion and application of latest international research results in China’s economic and social development.

According to ECNU, the magazine will carry original stories and set aside special columns and supplements about academic meetings and topic studies, aiming to keep domestic postdoctoral students and young scholars abreast of international academic forefront.
