The university inked a Framework Agreement for All-round Strategic Cooperation with the Fengxian District Government on November 30.
Officials present at the signing ceremony at the conference hall of the district government building included Shanghai Vice Mayor Weng Tiehui; Zong Ming, deputy general-secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Government; Su Ming and Jia Wei, director and vice director of the city’s education commission; Fengxian Party chief Zhuang Mudi and head of the district Hua Yuan; and ECNU leaders Tong Shijun, Sun Zhenrong and Mei Bing. Ni Minjing, vice head of Fengxian District, officiated at the ceremony.
According to the agreement, both parties will stick to the principle of mutual exchange, cooperation and development, and carry out in-depth cooperation on scientific research achievement transformation and industrialization, regional education quality improvement, talent training, exchange program expansion and pooling of resources, so as to achieve sustainable and healthy development of economy and society in the district as well as a boost for regional higher learning education.
Also at the ceremony, Fengxian clinched agreements with Shanghai Normal University and No. 9 People’s Hospital on deepening cooperation and seeking common development.
In his closing remarks, Weng said he believed the agreements would propel the development of education and hygiene of Fengxian, a district that is in great need of education and medical resources, and hoped the agreed projects could be implemented as soon as possible.
