According to Thomson Reuters, Frontiers of Earth Science, an English journal jointly published by ECNU and Higher Education Press of China, was indexed by SCI recently.
The editorial office of Frontiers of Earth Science is located in the Key Laboratory of Geographic Information Science, Ministry of Education, with Prof. Gao Wei, Director of the Laboratory, as editor-in-chief.
Frontiers of Earth Science publishes original, peer-reviewed, theoretical and experimental frontier research papers as well as significant review articles of more general interest to earth scientists. It aims at promoting communications and sharing knowledge among the international earth science communities. The scope of this journal covers a broad range of earth science topics, including, but not limited to, physical geography, geology, geophysics, meteorology, oceanography, climatology, ecology, biology, global change, hydrology, environmental pollution, ecosystems and sustainability, remote sensing, etc.
Based on the characteristics of geographic research in China, Frontiers of Earth Science takes the advantage of ECNU’s discipline superiority and influence at home and abroad in geographic research and has developed a special journal management mode of combining international research focus with characteristic research in China. As its influence keeps increasing, the journal was indexed by Chinese science and technology periodical statistical sources of Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China (ISTIC) and Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD) of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010 and 2011 respectively. In 2012, the journal was indexed by SCI.
