A team of researchers from three universities in Shanghai won the first prize of the 2018 University Science Research Outstanding Achievement Award in Natural Sciences. The Key Theory and Methodology of Cloud Security project was jointly put together by ECNU Professor Zhenfu Cao, ECNU Professor Xiaolei Dong, ECNU Associate Professor Jun Zhou from School of Computer Science and Software Engineering, Professor Haojun Zhu of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Associate Professor Lifei Wei of Shanghai Ocean University.

In practice, cloud security is an urgent problem confronting the application and usage of cloud computing services since it is reflected in outsourcing computing, auditing, storage, services, etc. Hence, this project has put an emphasis on its systematicness and originality in dealing with cloud security.
The project proposes to solve multiple core issues in cloud computing security by promoting a“safe and user-friendly”for all of the core issues in cloud security, cloud auditing security, key theories of cloud storage security and key mechanisms of cloud service security. It also provides a theoretical foundation and methodological support for its practical usage.
In addition, the project won “China's 100 Most Influential International Academic Papers in 2014”. It published 137 papers, including 53 papers published in JCR District 1 or CCF A journals/conferences, while it was cited more than 7,700 times (according to Google Scholar).
