The delegation of ECNU visit the China Meteorological Administration.
On March 8th, ECNU signed a strategic partnership agreement with the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) in Beijing. Zheng Guoguang, Administrator of CMA, Yu Rucong, Deputy Administrator of CMA, Chen Qun, President of ECNU, Li Zhibin, Vice-President of ECNU, Ding Pingxing, Director of the Faculty of ECNU’s Earth Sciences, and directors of relevant ECNU departments attended the signing ceremony.
According to the agreement, the two sides plan to strengthen cooperation in the important sectors of city meteorology and atmospheric environment by undertaking the following tasks: forming innovative research groups; promoting the development of ECNU’s atmospheric science major; strengthening the building of Sci-tech platforms; and establishing a joint meeting system to form a long-term relationship of collaboration.

According to Guidance on Strengthening Meteorological Talent Training, a manual issued by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and CMA this February, reforms will deepen meteorological talent cultivation, further optimizing the meteorological major and the structure for seeking talent. It is the first agreement that CMA has made with a university since the Guidance was issued.
