ECNU receives medical supplies donated by the Belarusian Consulate General in Shanghai


On March 26, Andrei Andreyev, consul general of Belarus in Shanghai, led a delegation to ECNU. During the visit, Andreyev handed over the medical protective equipment donated by the consulate general to aid in the battle against COVID-19. The donation included face-masks, medical isolation gowns, protective gear and gloves.

When meeting with ECNU vice president Sun Zhenrong, Andreyev spoke highly of the decisive measures the Chinese Government had taken to combat the pandemic. He was also impressed by ECNU’s effort to offer online classes to students who had to stay at home during the epidemic.  

He said that China's anti-virus experience is worth learning as the global coronavirus pandemic worsens. He expressed his hope that ECNU would work with Belarusian universities in providing online teaching based on shared educational resources. 

Vice president Sun expressed his heartfelt thanks to the consul general. He said that the visit and donation are the best expression of the friendship between Chinese and Belarusian people. . 

Sun expected that with the support and assistance of the consulate general, ECNU will be able to enhance cooperation with Belarusian universities in the future in the form of specific research projects. He also wished that both sides can join hands in making major contributions to the development of both countries. 

Towards the end of the meeting, Sun presented the donation certificate to Andreyev and passed on a letter from ECNU president Qian Xuhong, who expressed his thanks for the generosity of the consulate general.
