A ceremony was recently held online and offline simultaneously to welcome new students to the 2019 ECNU Master of Education program in Malaysia.
Zhou Aoying, vice president of ECNU, Wu Tianquan, president of the Federation of Chinese Associations in Malaysia, and Chen Dajin, chairman of the United Chinese School Committees' Association of Malaysia, met online with 18 new Malaysian students to the program at the ceremony presided over by Xun Yuan, executive vice director of the Faculty of Education of ECNU.

As ECNU's first overseas diploma program and a key move by the university has made to deepen reform in its postgraduate education, this program aims to provide high-quality MA education for Malaysians engaging in basic education.
In April, 2017 when the program was launched, ECNU partnered with Pay Fong High School, Malacca, to recruit 13 postgraduate students in September that year. So far, these students have finished all the academic courses required and have completed their dissertation proposals.

In October, 2019, ECNU teamed up with Kuen Cheng High School in Kuala Lumpur in admitting 18 postgraduate students. After the opening ceremony, the new students attended an online course as their first class.
