On June 30, Zheng Baoyong, Senior Vice President and chief scientist of Huawei Technologies Co Ltd., visited ECNU and had talks with ECNU President Qian Xuhong and Vice President Zhou Aoying.
According to Zhou Aoying, over the past year, after the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement between ECNU and Huawei, they have reaped remarkable cooperation results insuch fields as the “Kunpeng Ecology”, the “Second Computing Platform”, and the “Smart Campus” It is expected that the implementation of more intelligent projects will facilitate the digital transformation and development of ECNU, promote innovation in its student cultivation modes, and propel the university’s in-depth exploration in China’s educational reform. Meanwhile, both sides should invest in innovative research on core technologies to promote the in-depth integration between education and information technology.

Qian Xuhong expected that both sides will carry out in-depth, data-driven cooperation and use new technologies and new concepts to cultivate talents with innovative capabilities and social responsibility.

Zheng Baoyong said that Huawei will give full support to the in-depth cooperation with ECNU and establish the university as a model of the smart campus. In the future, Huawei will continue to cooperate with ECNU in the fields of big data and artificial intelligence.
Huawei deepens strategic cooperation with ECNU.
In July 2019, ECNU and Huawei signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Shenzhen. Afterwards, an overall strategic cooperation was concluded between both parties on joint scientific research innovation, talent cultivation and exchange, smart campus construction, and basic education informatization. In September 2019, they jointly established a database innovation laboratory. At the Shanghai Kunpeng Computing Industry Summit convened in December 2019, they officially launched cooperation in the GaussDB database.
