Greetings to ECNUers at Minor Snow

According to the traditional Chinese calendar, there are 24 solar terms in a year. Today, November 22nd, marks Xiaoxue, or Minor Snow, the 20th solar term of the year.

As its name indicates, Xiaoxue refers to the time of year when the weather starts getting colder. Usually, from this solar term onwards, even people in South China will begin to feel the coming of winter.

Such kind of weather during Minor Snow can benefit the agricultural sector, because low temperatures accompanying the snow can kill some hidden pests and bacteria in the soil, which can reduce pests and diseases in the following year.

During Minor Snow, the temperature declines harply and the air becomes dry. ECNUers should remember to stay warm against the plummeting temperatures.
