The traditional Chinese lunar calendar divides the year into 24 solar terms. Xiaoman, the 8th solar term meaning “Small Full” literally, falls on May 21st this year.
As its English translation “Grain Buds” suggests, Xiaoman is a time when grain seeds become full but are not yet ripe.
During Xiaoman, ECNUers can take a walk or jog around the campus and appreciate this year’s graduation flowers-verbenas.
