Greetings to ECNUers at the Start of Summer

Lixia, literally meaning the Start of Summer, falls on May 5th this year. It is the 7th of the 24 solar terms in traditional Chinese calendar. Also, Lixia is the first solar term in summer, which signifies the transition from spring to summer.

When Lixia comes, the temperature rises obviously and thunderstorms will increase markedly. Besides, Lixia also symbolises that crops enter their peak season for growth. Farmers welcome one of the busiest periods of time in agricultural production.

ECNUers, it’s high time for us to say goodbye to spring and welcome the advent of summer.
