ECNU cooperates with Putuo District to deepen the district-university integrative development

On April 28, ECNU and the Putuo District Government held a cooperation agreement signing ceremony to further deepen the district-university integrative development. Mei Bing, Chair of the University Council, Qian Xuhong, President of ECNU, Cao Liqiang, Secretary of the CPC Putuo District Committee, and other leaders from the university and the district attended the ceremony.

Both the district and the university will further accelerate resource sharing and collaborative development. They will focus on promoting the construction of the ECNU campus and the surrounding areas and work together to buildthe intelligent education, scientific and technological innovation aggregation belt around ECNU. This new round of cooperation will provide a powerful momentum for the high-quality development of regional economy and society.

Cao Liqiang pointed out that ECNU and the Putuo district in which it is rooted have developed in an integrated manner, laying a solid foundation for in-depth cooperation. In recent years, they have earnestly implemented the strategic cooperation, explored key areas of development, and accelerated industry-university-research collaborative innovation. As a result, a number of leading, strategic projects have been launched, benefitting ECNUers and people of the Putuo district.

Mei Bing, Chair of the University Council, delivered her speech.


“This year is the 70th anniversary of the founding of ECNU. This is an important, happy event for the district. We will make full use of this opportunity to produce more substantive results in the new round of district-university integration,” said Mei Bing. Mei also indicated that ECNU will integrate itself more proactively into the strategic needs of the Putuo District and Shanghai for economic and social development.
