The delegation visited the ultra-fast laser equipment lab and were updated about the latest progress made in the industrial commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.

They also held talks with postgraduate students at the institute, inquiring about their study and work in Chongqing and encouraging them to engage wholeheartedly in cutting-edge scientific and technological innovation and transformation.

The delegation also visited the Smart City Operation Center, Innovation Sigma Space and Mingyuedu Pier in the Liangjiang Collaborative Innovation Zone to learn about the planning and construction of the innovation zone, the layout of the pillar industries, the scientific and technological innovations being implemented, and the ongoing construction of the Smart City.

They were also briefed about the application of mesoporous quantum photocatalytic environmental purification material developed within the innovation zone in the Mingyue Lake. Mei Bing urged the institute to focus on research and development of innovative technologies for water pollution treatment and contribute to the construction of a vibrant and diversified Chongqing that is beautiful, green, intelligent, open and collaborative.

As the first ECNU research institute established outside Shanghai, ECNU Chongqing Institute was jointly established by Chongqing Liangjiang New Area and ECNU. Since its inception on April 2, 2019, the institute has laid the groundwork for in-depth integration of industry, university and research, and for seamless fusion between innovation and the industrial commercialization of science and technology. In the future, both sides will work more closely to support Chongqing in its effort to achieve high-quality development and turn itself into a demonstration area for the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle.
