ECNU's Qian Xuhong meets new president of Lyon Business School of France

On the morning of July 5th, the new president of Lyon Business School of France, Tawhid CHTIOUI, visited the ECNU campus accompanied by Tugrul Atamer, vice president of the school’s foreign affairs, as well as Wang Hua, vice president, president of the Asian campus, and dean of the Asian-European Business School of the French school. ECNU’s president Qian Xuhong also met with the delegation along with Zhou Yunxuan, director of the International Exchange Department and He Jiaxun, deputy director of the School of Economics and Management and Chinese President of the Asia Europe Business School (AEBS).

President Qian congratulated Tawhid CHTIOUI on his appointment as the new president of Lyon Business School where he spoke highly of the closer co-operation between the two universities; meanwhile briefing Tawhid CHTIOUI on the current matters pertinent to ECNU, particularly on the school’s “double-class” construction and the five action plans: “education+”, “ecology+”, “health+”, “Smart+” and “International+”.

He expressed his expectations for ECNU and Lyon Business School in that they would be able to achieve a higher level of academic exchange and co-operation under the leadership of Tawhid CHTIOUI.

Tawhid CHTIOUI was enthusastic about ECNU’s warm reception in addition to being one of ECNU’s most important international partners. During the talks, Tawhid CHTIOUI introduced that Lyon Business School was currently undergoing a series of innovative reforms to promote the transition from a traditional business school to a commercial university. In the future, Lyon Business School will also focus on promoting the development of big data, digitization and joint-cooperation with engineering schools.

In doing so, the school prioritizes the students' international experience and satisfaction, ensuring rich and high-quality teaching resources as well as cultivating students' lifelong competitiveness. He stressed that Lyon Business School will continue to open up and actively explore new modes of cooperation with ECNU that will be mutually beneficial and a win-win for both sides.

During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on their respective strategic partners,the integration and widened-scope of cooperation as well as the establishment of a trilateral and multilateral cooperation model.

Founded by the entrepreneurs of the Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1897, Lyon Business School is a leading private business school in Europe and a pioneer in the field of global entrepreneurship and leadership development. It’s significant that they are accredited by the three international organizations EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA, and only 1% of business schools worldwide have received this award.

The cooperation between ECNU and Lyon Business School can be traced back to the latter’s establishment at ECNU’s International Education Park in Shanghai, Minhang District back in 2007.

Lyon Business School is one of the key cooperative universities for ECNU’s internationalization strategy. At present, the cooperation between the two universities include the “2+2” project for undergradute students, the “1+1” joint training project for quantitative finance master’s students, student exchange programs, joint research of teachers, and the jointly established business school called the Asia Europe Business School (AEBS). AEBS currently offers three majors: Double Degree Undergraduate Program in Business Administration (Chinese-French Innovation Experimental Class), Double Degree Master Program in Marketing Management (Renowned Brand Management) and Double Degree Professional Master Program in International Business (Global Management and Chinese Studies). At the same time, AEBS also receives more than 30 Lyon Business School students to exchange and study at ECNU each year.
