Tongzhou Senior High School in Jiangsu Province was officially recognized by ECNU as a school with high-quality students when Pu Xiaolong, director of ECNU Admission Office, presented a plaque to Principal Ji Zhongping at an award ceremony on July 26.
In addition, Cheng Ya, head of the Physics and Electronic Science School of ECNU, and Liu Jie, Party chief of the School of Ecological and Environmental Sciences, handed out ECNU admission notices to three newly admitted students from the Tongzhou school, and held talks with their parents.

Ji Zhongping gave a brief introduction to the development of his school and the outstanding performance of its students in this year's National College Entrance Examinations, or gaokao. He thanked ECNU for its continuous attention and support to the school.
In return for the favor, Pu Xiaolong expressed heartfelt thanks to the school for having provided a large number of excellent students to ECNU. Pu said although ECNU is famous for talent-based education, high school students are still welcome to apply for other varieties of majors in the university. He said ECNU will work with the Tongzhou school to build a high-efficiency link to qualified graduates from the school to be enrolled in the university.

During a speech at the ceremony, Ding Youye, an ECNU freshman of the physics major who scored 423 points in gaokao this year, said he applied for ECNU because it has been his long-held dream to become a teacher. He hopes to make a career out of physics-related curriculum, teaching and research in the future.

Tongzhou Senior High School is a key provincial-level school in China with a history of 97 years; it serves as a model for national senior high schools whereby morality and ethics play a large role in the education. It aims to become a top-tier school in the country.
