4 ECNU scholars win national award

Four professors of ECNU have won the 2015 Annual Influential Award for Chinese Young Humanities & Social Scientists.

They are Hao Yuqing with the Department of Physics, Meng Zhongjie with the Department of History, Xu Guoqing with the Institute of Vocational & Adult Education of the Department of Education, and Xu Xin with the Faculty of Economics and Management.

The selection of the awardees was initiated by the Renmin University Humanities and Social Science Academic Achievements Assessment Research Center, and hosted by 1xuezhe, a mobile academic R&D app, and the search engine Baidu. The event aims to encourage young scholars to engage in academic research and offer incentives to high-level and distinguished young academic leaders.

This year's selection adopted a five-criteria evaluation system for the first time, which is deemed more authoritative, credible and comprehensive. These criteria are the number of theses published in 2015, the number of essays used as a reference, the number of essays that were reprinted by Newspapers and Periodicals Duplicate Material, a magazine run by the Information Center for Social Sciences of Renmin University, judge scoring and online poll by scholars.

A total of 100 people were nominated for the award.
