6 ECNU science achievements awarded

The achievement of Prof. Lv and his team wins the first prize of this year's Shanghai Science and Technology Awards.

SIX projects developed by ECNU scientists were granted the Shanghai Science and Technology Awards on April 18.

At a ceremony for the city's most prestigious award in science and technology held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center, the Key Technology Research and Application of Intelligent Mail Sorting Based on Multi-Source Information Fusion, which was jointly developed by the ECNU School of Computer Science and Software Engineering,and the Shanghai Post Science Research Institute. They have received the first prize in the category of Science and Technology Progress Award, a breakthrough for ECNU over recent years. The ECNU development team was led by Prof. Lv Yue.

French scientist Jean-Raymond Abrial wins the Shanghai International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.

French scientist Jean-Raymond Abrial won the Shanghai International Science and Technology Cooperation Award for making remarkable contributions to China's science and technology advancement, with the help of ECNU professor He Jifeng, an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and his team, among other Chinese institutions. Abrial was the first winner of the award among foreigners who cooperated with ECNU.

Another four projects developed by ECNU teams led by Prof. Hu Zhigao and Guo Fangmin of the School of Information Science and Technology, and Prof. He Liang and He Daojing of the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering were also honored at the ceremony. 

Shanghai’s top leader Han Zheng made a speech at the ceremony while Vice Mayor Zhou Bo announced the winners list. On behalf of the ECNU winners, Prof. Lu Yue and Abrial were called to the stage to receive prizes.
