Faculty of Education Sciences holds 1st academic conference in US
More than 200 professors and scholars from 20 globally prestigious universities gathered together at the first academic exchange conference held by the Faculty of Education Sciences of ECNU in Washington D.C. on April 9, 2016.
ECNU Vice President Ren Youquan and Yuan Zhenguo, head of the Faculty of Education Sciences, detailed the department's development plan for the next three to five years and internationalization strategy to the attendees, who came from universities including Harvard University, Columbia University in the City of New York, the University of Chicago and University of Maryland.

The conference built a bridge between the department and international academic institutions for further exchange and cooperation. This drove home the department's up-to-date favorable policies to attract foreign talent, and increased the school’s global influence.

The conference was part of the 2016 Annual Meeting of the American Education Research Association (AERA), which was themed Public Scholarship to Educate Diverse Democracies. Official data showed more than 15,000 people took part in the five-day long meeting, one of the largest gathering of scholars in the field of education research. During the meeting, more than 2,500 symposiums and 250 professional workshop trainings were held, and 6,500 guests gave speeches or shared views with others.

The Faculty of Education Sciences of ECNU had 16 essays accepted by the meeting organizer and its representatives delivered more than 10 speeches on the school's academic achievements and opinions during the meetings.
It also hosted a roundtable meeting on education research, and reached cooperation agreements with counterparts in a number of foreign universities in the fields of talent training, teacher and student exchange program and science research.
