Nature ranks ECNU No. 17 of Chinese universities

ECNU was No. 17 of the top 200 Chinese research organizations, according to a listing published by Nature Index 2015 China on December 17, 2015.

Nature Index 2015 China is an annual supplement of Nature magazine in Britain. ECNU’s ranking in 2015 was one place higher than that in 2014. 

ECNU stands No.20 among all institutions of China.

ECNU stands No. 20 in physical science according to Nature Index China.

In 2015, ECNU published 148 papers cited by Nature Index 2015 China, with WFC (weighted fractional count) up 26.9 percent. 

Nature Index 2015 China also published listings of top 50 Chinese research organizations in physical, chemical and biological fields. The lists showed that ECNU stood No. 20 in physical science, No. 23 in chemical science, and No. 30 in biological science. 

China’s overall contribution to high-quality scientific research was No. 2 in the world, only after the United States, according to Nature Index 2015 China. 

According to Nature Index China, ECNU stands No. 20 in physical science, and No. 30 in life sciences. 

Nature Index 2015 China also shows that China’s high-quality scientific research output rose 37 percent from 2012 to 2014. Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing are top three research centers in China.
