The Faculty of Economics and Administration of East China Normal University (ECNU) signed a cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Economics of Yokohama National University (YNU)of Japan on a double-degree MBA in Room 334 of the Physics Building on Sept. 22.
A ceremony was held to mark the signing of the agreement, which signifies the formal launch of the Sino-Japanese double-degree MBA program.
Wang Subin, Vice Director of ECNU’s International Department, Li Xuechang, Director of ECNU’s MBA Education Center, and Prof. Lan Faqin, Vice Director of ECNU’s Faculty of Economics and Administration, were there to address the ceremony. They welcomed visitors from YNU, and warmly congratulated one another on the cooperation agreement. They also introduced ECNU’s plans of international exchange and its cooperation with YNU.
Prof. Morita Hiroshi, Director of YNU’s Faculty of Economics said he felt greatly honored to sign the agreement on behalf of YNU. The Faculty of Economics values the cooperation with ECNU, he said. Prof. Morita Hiroshi also said that in the past few years, the academic and cultural exchanges between the two universities have been very fruitful. The agreement on double-degree MBA would not only strengthen cooperation between the two universities, but also facilitate deeper bonds of economic and cultural exchanges between the two nations, he said.
Prof. Thornton, Vice director of YNU’s Faculty of Economics, and Takeshi Arthur Fuwa, associate professor of the faculty, recalled the history of cooperation between the two universities, and expressed their confidence on the double-degree programs outcome.
At last, Prof. Lan Faqin and Prof. Morita Hiroshi signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. According to the agreement, ECNU and YNU will formally start cooperation on the double-degree MBA program, on the basis of bilateral visit and classroom co-operations. The agreement is the latest achievement in a six-year cooperation between the two universities, as well as the first cooperation on the faculty-level. The agreement marks a solid step forward for the internationalization of ECNU’s MBA program and Faculty of Economics and Administration.
