Academician А. Л. Семенов, President of Moscow National Normal University (MNNU), visited East China Normal University on the invitation of Chen Qun, President of ECNU.
Prof. К.П. Доценко, Vice President of Moscow National Normal University, and Prof. Е.И. Булин-Соколова, who is wife of AcademicianА. Л. Семенов and professor of the university’s School of Children’s Education, visited ECNU along with Prof. А. Л. Семенов.

Academician А. Л. Семенов gave a lecture on “Mathematics, Computer Science, and ICT in School” for staff and students of the Department of Mathematics, Department of Education Information Technology, and Department of Curriculum & Instruction. Prof. Chen Qun met with Academician А. Л. Семенов before the lecture.
ECNU Council Chairman Tong Shijun met with Academician А. Л. Семенов and his coworkers at Yifu Building. They held warm discussions. Prof. Tong said the two universities, with much in common, could strengthen cooperation, especially in the areas of language teaching (Russian and Chinese), music, arts, mathematics and education.

Prof. Tong also signed a student exchange agreement with Academician А. Л. Семенов. Academician А. Л. Семеновvisited the foreign languages school affiliated to ECNU during his tour. Prof. Е.И. Булин-Соколова visited the kindergarten affiliated to ECNU. The visitors highly praised the staff, teaching and research abilities of ECNU.

А. Л. Семенов is member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and member of the Russian Academy Education Science. He is a renowned mathematician, a pioneer in education informationization, and winner of Russian President Award, Russian Federation Award, and UNESCO Award. Thanks to his great contributions to mathematics, he was awarded the Kerr Mo Gro prize by Russian Academy of Sciences in 2006 and awarded UNESCO Award in 2010.
Moscow National Normal University was established on Nov. 1, 1872. It was previously known as Moscow State Lenin Normal University. It ranks first in all the normal universities in Russia and CIS. It’s also one of the best universities in terms of overseas studentsstudent’s education in Russia. The university signed a cooperation agreement with ECNU in April this year.
