ECNU and EMLYON to Co-establish AEBS

  ECNU and EMLYON Business School will co-establish the Asia-Europe Business School.

On June 24,ECNU and EMLYON Business School signed a contract to co-establish the Asia-Europe Business School. This marks the most important step in ECNU’s plan for internationalization since the co-founding of Shanghai New York University with New York University in 2012.

According to the contract, the Asia-Europe Business School (AEBS) will combine the strengths of both universities, with the aim of establishing a reputation as a world-famous business school. Its future goals include training business leaders from around the world and boosting development and innovation within the global economy.

Gérard Collomb, Mayor of Lyon, who was visiting Shanghai at the time, was in attendance at the contract signing ceremony. He readaloud a letter of congratulations from French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius. According to Fabius, the cooperation between higher education institutions has played a very important role in the Sino-French partnership. The Asia-Europe Business School, being co-established by ECNU and EMLYON Business School, will further strengthen the bilateral friendly ties between the two countries.

The contract signing ceremony is held at ECNU.

The Asia-Europe Business School (AEBS), co-established by EMLYON and ECNU, will recruit its first students this September. Over the course of the next four years, AEBS will recruit no more than 300 undergraduate and graduate students, with plans to also recruit Ph.D candidates and international students in the future.

EMLYON Business School (EMLYON for short) is one of the most famous business schools in France. It was founded in Lyon (France) in 1872 by the local business community, and is affiliated to the Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
