The double PhD degree program between the two schools is the first such program to be established since the two universities began their partnership. According to the agreement, the program will officially enroll students next year and will cover sociology, social work, demography, anthropology, and folklore. The two schools will choose senior instructors to supervise the students, who will register and learn in both universities. After completing the credits required by both universities and passing the dissertation defense, they will be granted the degrees of Doctor of Judicial Science by ECNU, and Doctor of Social Work by NYU.
