The unveiling ceremony of the College is held at the Zhongbei Campus.
On January 19, the unveiling ceremony of International Teachers’ College of Chinese Language and Culture was held at the Zhongbei Campus of ECNU. Xu Lin, Consultant of the State Council and Director General of Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), Wang Yongli, deputy Director of Hanban and Liu Jun, vice President of University of Georgia, USA, together with many university leaders as well as over 200 guests attended the ceremony.

International Teachers’ College of Chinese Language and Culture is established to centralize the training of international Chinese language teachers thus to promote the professionalization of such occupation.
ECNU is one of the universities in China that first start the education of overseas students in Chinese language. And its Institute of Global Chinese Language Teacher Education is the first domestic base set by Hanban, which has cultivated 550 postgraduates and over 12,000 Chinese language teachers since its establishment in 2008.
More than 200 students and honored guests attend the ceremony.
The newly established College will focus on the training of international Chinese language teachers while the Institute aims at the completion of the tasks required by Hanban and the promotion and popularization of Chinese culture. In this way, it is more effective in the optimization of personnel of International Chinese language teachers thus to meet the diverse needs of the growing diversified international market.
