The show is made up of a variety of multimedia art forms.

The ECNU Fine Arts Department is famous in Shanghai for its professional faculty, made up of a group of quite well-known artists, as well as for its modern and contemporary artwork, research and education, which are led by these artists. This art show is directed by Yu Tianwei, Director of ECNU’s Fine Arts Department. The show mainly reflected explorations and deliberations made by a group of young artists born in the 1970s and 1980s, namely Wang Yichu, Chen Dongjie, Lu Yuwei, Huang Yu, Lyv Qizhang, Cao Liping and Wu Xiaoning.

Visitors discuss the art works with ECNU students.

Comprising of a variety of multidimensional and multimedia art forms, such as oil paintings, sculptures, videos and lacquer arts, the show has attracted many professional visitors and won much appreciation from them. Through crossover and comparison among these different art forms, ECNU’s young artists want to present their interpretation of the multicultural patterns in modern society. According to Yu, just like the image of the multi-prism, young artists’ works are visually colorful and wonderful. Moreover, these works reflected these young artists’ explorations and latest understandings of modern literature, philosophy, sociology, education and psychology.
