On November.14, the list of 2nd batch of 2014 Major Projects of National Social Science Fund (NSSF) of China was published. According to the list, ECNU has 6 major projects and 2 key projects, which made the NSSF projects number of the University rank 1st in Shanghai and 3rd in China.
With the newly approved projects, ECNU has altogether 7 major projects so far this year, and 27 major projects since 2009, of which 4 projects have earned continuous subsidization and 1 project has successfully finished.
NSSF Major Projects belong to the highest level projects of National Social Science Fund of China. All the NSSF Major Projects can receive the largest financial aid from the Fund as they represent the highest level of the academic research of the country. Thus it can be regarded as one important index to evaluate the scientific research ability of a university.
NSSF Major Projects are divided into three categories,namely, pragmatic research, research for major basic theories, and interdisciplinary research. Generally speaking, every major project can receive a financial aid of ¥600,000-800,000 RMB.
