High Frequency Trading and Probability Theory is published.
Recently, the Editorial Department of Journal of ECNU has published ECNU Scientific Reports,Vol.1:High Frequency Trading and Probability Theory with World Scientific Publishing Co. as well as Imperial College Press globally. It is the second series of English journal published by ECNU after ECNU Review issued in 2012，so it can be regarded as a new landmark of the internationalization of Journal of ECNU.

The Press Conference of Publication of High Frequency Trading and Probability Theory, was held in ECNU, Zhongbei Campus on October 23. University leaders including Fan Jun and Sun Zhengrong, representatives of the publishers and media, as well as experts attended the conference. Xie Chao, Director of the University’s Publicity Department, chaired the conference.
High Frequency Trading and Probability Theory was collaboratively written by Prof. Zhen Wei'an and Doctor Wang Zhaodong, an expert in financial industry. As the first work in the field of high frequency trading, it has a high academic value. Because of its combination of systematic finical data and advanced theoretical research, the book had caught much attention from both the academia and the financial industry even before its public offering.
Besides Volume 1, there are two other subsequent volumes on the publishing schedule, namely, “Educational Studies in Mathematics” written by the team of Prof. Wang Jianpan, a former President of ECNU, “Big Data Research” written by the team of Academician He Jifeng and Professor Zhou Aoying.
To abreast with the internationalization strategy of ECNU, the Editorial Department of Journal of ECNU has launched its English journal publishing project since 2011, and has created ECNU Review and ECNU Scientific Reports in succession.
The University has attached great importance to the publication of the English journals. Tong Shijun, Chairman of University Council of ECNU and Chen Qun, President of ECNU, wrote preface for the first issue of ECNU Review and ECNU Scientific Reports respectively.
In his preface, Tong spoke highly of the importance of publishing ECNU Review towards readers and authors. He wrote “our readers will not only be impressed by the importance of the contributions that ECNU has made to the academic world in general, but also benefit from our colleagues’ studies on the problems, experiences and traditions of their home country in particular.” and “At the same time when they would probably understand better their own work when presented in a foreign language, our authors, I hope, will also benefit a lot from valuable criticisms and suggestions kindly given by their readers all over the world.”
Chen placed his high expectation on ECNU Scientific Reports. In its preface, he wrote “We hope it will serve as an international platform for scientific research, particularly inter-disciplinary research.” and “I expect more and more valuable volumes of the series will appear in the near future, so that the international scientific world will benefit from our research.”
