On July 8-12th, the 23rd Biennial Meeting of the International Society for the Study of Behaviorual Development (ISSBD) was hosted y ECNU in Shanghai. More than 600 scholars and experts of behavirorual development attended the meeting.

On the opening ceremony, President Chen Qun first extended congratulations on the opening of the conference and welcome to all the guests, then made a brief introduction of the behavirorual development research in ECNU and hoped the scientists and scholars participating in the conference would share their wisdom and knowledge to promote and support ECNU researches towards a higher level.

During the 5-day conference, 15 world famous scientists made keynote/invited speeches focusing on hot topics including cognitive development across the lifespan, numerical development, early childhood development, the determinants of remembering and forgetting, the psychology of competition, as well as psychology and aging. Scientists and scholars exchanged their latest findings trough speeches, symposium, posters and workshops.

ISSBD is an international organisation whose mission is to promote scientific research of human development throughout the lifespan. It has members in over 60 countries around the world. During the conference, Prof. Chen Xinyin, a professor of Psychology at the Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania, elected as the President of ISSBD.
