The 18th International Congress on Insurance: Mathematics and Economics is held.
On July 10-12, the 18th International Congress on Insurance: Mathematics and Economics (IME) hosted by ECNU was held in Shanghai. More than 300 experts and scholars from over 40 countries attended the conference.
The congress attracts more than 300 experts and scholars from the world.
Tong Shijun, Chairman of ECNU University Council, attended the opening ceremony and addressed. Tong expressed welcome to all the guests, and made a brief introduction of the University and the development of its School of Finance and Statistics. He hoped the experts and scholars participating in the conference would share their wisdom and knowledge to promote and support the related researches of ECNU, Shanghai and even China towards a higher level.

During the 3-day congress, academic researchers and industry practitioners from all over the world discussed and exchanged frontier theories and hot issues in the area of insurance and actuarial science, such as pension plans, social insurance, health insurance, solvency regulation, reinsurance, etc. World-renowned scholars in the area of insurance and actuarial science including Hans Gerber,Hansjoerg Albrecher,Marc Goovaerts, and Elias Shiu attended the congress and made keynote speeches.

IME International Congress is one of the major international conferences in the area of insurance and actuarial science. It is regarded as a precious top-tier forum for academic researchers and industry practitioners. The congress is associated with the leading actuarial science journal, Insurance: Mathematics and Economics. It has been held annually since the first congress in 1997 at Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
