VIVA wins a silver diploma in the 8th World Choir Games.
The VIVA Chorus of ECNU completed their trip from the 8th World Choir Games (WCG) in Riga 'world champions' after winning the silver diploma in the ballad category at the world's most prestigious choir competition.
World Choir Games, which follow the Olympic ideals of excellence, friendship and respect, are the world’s largest choir competition with about 20,000 singers participating annually from around the world. This year, the World Choir Games was held in Riga, the capital of Latvian in July 10-19. It attracted 460 choruses from 73 countries and regions, and 82 of them were from China.

In the final, VIVA performed 4 unaccompanied mixed choruses, namely, The Brook Drips Water, Cheerful Songs & Merry Music, Under the Silver Moonlight, Four Seas. All the four songs were varied in styles and full of Chinese characteristics, which impressed the audiences deeply and provided them a special and vivid way to feel the charming of Chinese culture.

VIVA, a chorus of ECNU students, was founded more than ten years ago. After years of hard training, VIVA has grown into a high-level chorus with world fame. It is not the first time that VIVA has won diplomas in world choir competitions. Early in 2006, the chorus won a gold diploma in the 4th World Choir Games.
