On the afternoon of May 9, the inauguration ceremony of Foreign Language Experimental School Affiliated to ECNU, co-established by ECNU and the Putuo District Government, was held.
The concise but grand ceremony was hosted by Fan Yigang, Director of the Education Bureau in Putuo District. Ren Youqun, Vice President & Vice Chairman of ECNU’s University Council, and Jing Ying, Deputy Head of Putuo District Government unveiled the plaque of the school. Zhao Jian, Director of ECNU’s Division of Schooling and Lifelong Education, introduced the establishment and the future of the school.

The co-establishment of Foreign Language Experimental School Affiliated to ECNU is a landmark in the comprehensive strategic cooperation between ECNU and Putuo District. It aims to improve the overall level of the basic education along Suzhou River in Putuo District with the influence of “High-quality Education Circle around ECNU’s Zhongbei Campus”.
At the same time, the newly-established school will also become a practice base of for ECNU’s teacher students, a training base for cultivating outstanding teachers coming from various parts of the country, a base for headmasters’ further study, research of curriculums and teaching, as well as a base for international students to experience Chinese culture.
