Camp for Recommended Students Held

The Uniersity holds an experience camp for this year’s recommended students.

 

On Feb.13-15, ECNU held an experience camp for this year’s recommended students. 50 recommended students from Henan, Tianjin, Sichuan, Shandong, Fujian, Jiangsu and Shanghai participated in the camp with President Chen Qun, as well as directors, teachers and students of relevant schools and departments of the University.

Chen Qun first sent greetings to the 50 recommended students in his welcome speech at the beginning of the camp. “ECNU is a real university, a university of good quality, and a university of great love said Chen in his brief introduction of the University. During the 3-day activity, the 50 students had face-to-face interactions with teachers and senior students, as well as visits around the campus and the city.

In the interactions, Dai Liyi, Director of Office of Academic Affairs introduced the the University’s talents training from the perspective of teaching and curriculum. Pan Liang, Director of Department of Students Affairs introduced the management and development of students in the University. Wu Wei, Vice Director of Men Xiancheng College, introduced the employment guidance for students in the University. Li Mingjie, an associate professor of the Chinese Department, interpreted “Love in ECNU” with a poem, which impressed the students deeply. Teachers from relevant department and Schools also answered questions concerning with the 50 students’ future majors. While visiting the campus, the students were impressed by the beautiful campus, modern facilities and cozy dormitories. Besides that, the cruise along the Bund of Shanghai on the night of the Lantern Festival, which fell on Feb 14 this year, made them fascinated with the local culture of Shanghai.

“The camp provides me a direct impression of ECNU, which makes me clearer about the university life and the University. I do like ECNU, and I am really longing for my future life here,” said Wang Shu, a recommended student from Henan Province.
