The Closing Gala of 7th International Cultural Festival is held.
On November 22, the Closing Gala of 7th International Cultural Festival was held in front of the Physics Building on Zhongbei Campus with attendance of university leaders and about 100 overseas students from over 20 countries.
University leaders present awards to winners of the festival.
On the gala, Tong Shijun, Chairman of the University Council, President Chenqun and Vice President Sun Zhenrong gave awards to winners of football match, basketball match and Photography Competition of the festival respectively.
The show of the gala began with an exciting African drum dance by ISU Dance Club. Then the four hosts from Malaysia, Tajikistan, Slovakia and China announced the beginning of the show.

A group of students from America, Italy, Belarus and Canada sang a series of songs among which there were very unique folk songs and some popular Chinese songs. Another group from Mongolia, Italy, Mexico and Malaysia showed their own traditional dances respectively. A boy from Cameroon even sang the song “I Love You, China” in tang suit. And a Russian boy with his band also sang three rock songs in different languages. Some students from Vietnam combined their traditional drum with modern dance which aroused a great laughter among the audiences. Some South Korean students also showed their mixture of tradition and modernism through traditional Korean drumming and a very hot chair dance.
Apart from singing and dancing, students from 5 countries performed a skit “Rent a Girlfriend for the Spring Festival”, and two students from America and Uzbekistan respectively even presented a Peking Opera. What’s more, the gala also attracted students from Shanghai New York University who performed a typical American street dance and a song “Somebody I Used to know”. The gala ended in the chorus “We Are the World”.
The gala attracts a lot of audiences.
The Festival was held jointly by International Education Center as well as International College of Chinese Studies, Graduate Association and International Students’ Union.
