ECNU has actively carried out international exchanges and cooperation, with about five thousand foreign students pursuing advanced studies in the university every year.

As stressed by Chen Qun, Belarus is a good friend of China, and with which ECNU has attached great importance to the educational cooperation. In recent years, educational and cultural celebrities in Belarus, including the Minister of Education of Belarus, have visited ECNU many times. In April, 2012, ECNU established the Centre for Belarusian Studies as a platform for people, especially youngsters, of both countries to strengthen their understanding and friendship. As a comprehensive university and an important training base for international Chinese talents, ECNU welcomes more Belarusian students to further their study here, and is willing to make its own contributions to strengthen the cooperation between China and Belarus.
