The delegation of Qinghai Eduation Department visit the University.
On November 14, Wang Xuan, Director of Qinghai Provincial Department of Education, visited ECNU. President Chen Qun, Vice President Mei Bing and heads of the related departments including the University Office, the Office of Admission, the Graduate School, etc. had a meeting with the delegation.
Chen Qun first extended a warm welcome to the delegation. Then he gave a brief introduction of the basic situation and recent developments of ECNU and exchanged views with the delegation on strengthening communication as well as cooperation between both sides. Mei Bing introduced the faculty development in the University and ECNU’s work in the pre-service training for new teachers in Shanghai colleges and universities. Wang Xuan highly appreciated the achievement ECNU had made in the construction of teacher education innovation platform and the faculty development. She expressed willing of communication and cooperation with ECNU in discipline construction and especially in the teachers’ training.
At the meeting, the delegation had a grasp of the overall policy of ECNU’s counterpart support for higher education in western provinces in the discipline construction, talent cultivation and scientific research. They also inquired of the University’s internal management system and the University’s enrollment in Qinghai.
The delegation hoped that both sides would deepen cooperation by means of “2+2” or "3+1" joint training programs, academic exchange tours, and exchanges of cadres. They wanted to further enhance teaching ideas and professional development ability of teachers in Qinghai with the help of the teacher education advantage of ECNU. Chen Qun said ECNU would be very glad to promote the teacher education and economic development in Qinghai with its discipline advantages because the University has a long time tradition of supporting the central and western regions.
During the visit, the delegation was also shown around the University’s Experimental Platform for Teacher Education.
