On Nov.18, the closing ceremony of 4th World Chinese Art Education Symposium was held at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. As the representative of the organizer of the 5th World Chinese Art Education Symposium, Prof. Wei Tianyu, Dean of ECNU’s Department of Arts, accepted the flag of the symposium from the representative of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.

Supported by International Society for Education through Art (InSEA) of UNESCO, World Chinese Art Education Symposium is held every two years. The first four symposiums were held respectively by Chinese Central Academy of Fine Arts, China Academy of Arts, and Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, four top academies of arts in China.

On the ceremony, Wei introduced the advantages of Shanghai as a great cosmopolis from the respects of geography, universities, and academic exchanges, as well as the capability of ECNU, a first-grade university in China, of holding the symposium.

“ECNU will not disappoint the symposium’s expectations, and our university has the confidence and capability to hold the 5th World Chinese Art Education Symposium successfully,” said Wei.
