09/18/2013

What to learn and how to learn in universities? That may be a question for many freshmen. The Academic Advisor System for Undergraduates in the Department of Physic may be a good answer to that.

On Sept. 9 afternoon, 72 freshmen of the Department of Physics first saw their academic advisors at the opening ceremony of the new term. 18 young teachers with excellent academic achievements and overseas education background will provide them personified directions and plans on their study in the following four years according to their major, interest, character, future career planning, etc.

The academic advisors chat with their  students and set up Fexin groups, an e-communication method, among students at their first meeting.

To make each student be clear about their study at university, the Department of Physics decided to carry out the Academic Advisor System for Undergraduates early in the summer vocation. The department selected 18 excellent young teachers with outstanding academic achievements and overseas education background to provide counselling and directions for all the freshmen. The 72 freshmen were divided into 18 groups and every four freshmen would have an advisor for their academic study and research.
