Prof. Lynch gives a course to ECNU graduate students.
Since June 12, Prof. Allen Lynch, an expert in foreign policies and affairs from University of Virginia has given courses on “Domestic Politics and American Foreign Policy” to ECNU graduate students, with the invitation from School of Advanced International and Area Studies (SAIAS), and Center for Russian Studies, a key research institute of humanities and social sciences of Ministry of Education. And his courses will last to July 19.
During his stay in ECNU, Prof. Lynch also made a special lecture at “Forum of Hundred University Lectures”, a prestigious forum of ECNU for holding high level academic lectures, and visited two summer programs held by SAIAS. On June 24, he attended the commencement for graduate students of SAIAS and delivered an ardent speech.

Dr. Tang Huiyun, the only graduating doctoral students of SAIAS's this year had studied at University of Virginia for two years as a visiting student with the help of Prof. Lynch. In his speech, Prof. Lynch said that he had treated Tang as his own student during her stay in the University of Virginia and was very proud of Tang's being employed by Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.
Allen Lynch, a Ph.D from Columbia University, works in the Department of Politics of University of Virginia. As an active scholar in U.S, Russian and European academia, he also works as a Honorary Fellow of the Foreign Policy Association and a Albert Gallatin Fellow, and has published influencing research papers on peer-reviewed academic journals including Foreign Affairs, National Interests, etc.
Prof. Lynch teaches at a class of the summer program held by SAIAS.
Prof. Lynch has visited Shanghai many times since 2004. He worked as a visiting scholar in ECNU for two months and gave professional courses to graduate students in 2008. At the same time, he has received delegations from ECNU in the United States and contributed a lot to promoting closer cooperation between ECNU and University of Virginia.
