ECNU and Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Branch sign a strategic cooperation agreement.
On June 4, ECNU and Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Branch signed a strategic cooperation agreement at Zhongbei Campus to collaborate in the fields of training professional talents, setting up university financial laboratories, building high-end think tank and teaching & research base.
Chen Liangjie, Director of Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Branch, and Tong Shijun, Chairman of ECNU University Council attended the agreement signing ceremony. Fan Jun, ECNU Vice President, and Ye Guobiao, Vice Director of Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Branch, signed the agreement as representatives of both sides.
According to the deal, Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Branch will become ECNU’s teaching and practicing base for training talents majoring in Journalism and Communication, Finance, and Information Technology. Xinhua News Agency will select excellent reporters and editors to give lectures for ECNU students. ECNU will set up a post-doctoral station in Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Branch to do research in important theories and problems of the development of cultural industry, journalism and communication.

Besides that, as far as the cooperation in high-end think tank is concerned, ECNU and Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Branch will integrate resources of both sides to provide services including making special surveys, tendency assessments and policy making consultation for local government, large companies and organizations.
