ECNU and SMG co-establish MC Studios.
On May 14, the signing and unveiling ceremony of MC Studios jointly established by ECNU and Radio and Television Shanghai (RTS) was held in SMG with attendance of both parties. Four famous MCs from RTS (i.e. Cao Kefan, Chen Rong, Yin Hairong, Luo Xin) will be in the first batch to set up studios in the project and they were awarded adjunct professors of ECNU.
According to the signed agreement, SMG will provide internship positions and opportunities of front-line practice in media to students from School of Communication, ECNU, as well as instructions to the students’ professional research and practice. In return, ECNU will organize core groups constituted by outstanding Ph.D candidates and postgraduates to carry out researches for SMG in program viewing data analysis, hosting style study, innovative research and development of program styles, and even sustainable development of program contents. What’s more, ECNU will open “Liwa Forum of well-known MCs” to help plan and organize emcees’ social welfare activities and publish a series of books about famous MCs of RTS.

Experts said the project showed a new method of training media talents as well as a brand-new attempt in the “win-win” model of cooperation in teaching and research between academic and business world.
