Great China Stage Makes Hit on Campus

In every summer of Europe, many world famous symphony orchestras and brands often hold outdoors concerts in forests or on the lawns where audiences can sit on the ground and enjoy the music with leisure. In ECNU, the open-air concerts of Great China Stage provides the same entertainment for all ECNUers to enjoy music in the cool evening winds of May when Great China Stage held two concerts at the square in front of the University library on Minhang campus on the evenings of May 22 and May 23.

  

   

Liu Kun, a postgraduate student of the Department of Music sings the aria of Make Way for the Factotum fromLe Nozze di Figaro.  

 

  

Ye Ruhua, a student from Shanghai Normal University, plays Erho solo Meng Feng, meaning Ambience in Mongolia. 

 

  

 Gao Yang form Central Conservatory of Music plays Guzheng solo Regrets in Lin'an.

 

 

  Audiences enjoy music in the cool May winds.

 

The concert named My Chinese Dream, a nationwide tour organized by Chinese Musicians Association, was invited by Great China Stage and made an excellent performance on Minhang Campus on the evening of May 22. All the performers of the concert are from various universities around the country and gold medal winners of competitions organized by Chinese Musicians Association.  

   

 Julia Glenn, a master from Harvard University and New England Conservatory of Music, plays the violin solo Carmen Fantasia

 

   

 The symphony orchestra plays New York Nights, Miserable World and Unter Donner und Blitz-Polka.

 

  

 Audiences enjoy the concert at the square in front of the University library.

 

On the evening of May 23, the concert named Dream of ECNU · Winds of May performed by ECNU Chorus and ECNU Symphony Orchestra provided audiences with various songs and music from different times and countries.

 

Great China Stage is a Brand Cultural Activity organized by ECNU's Cultural Construction Committee and held by the University's Publicity Department and the Department of Music.
