Global Strategic Communication Summit Forum Held in ECNU

Jointly held by the School of Communication of ECNU and the School of Journalism of University of Missouri in the United States,  the Global Strategic Communication Summit Forum took place in ECNU on May 11.

 

Zhao Qizheng, former Director of the Information Office of the State Council, Wang Xuming, former spokesman of the Ministry of Education, Fritz Cropp, Associate Dean of School of Journalism of University of Missouri as well as well-known domestic scholars and experts brainstormed at the forum about how to promote the upgrading of Chinese communication mode to enhance the dissemination power.

At the forum, Fritz Cropp together with ECNU Vice President Fan Jun, unveiled the plaque of the Center for Studies on Global Strategic Communication. Based on both sides’ academic resources and research strength in journalism and communication of University of Missouri and ECNU, the center will integrate a wide range of social resources to promote the research and development of global strategic communication as well as enhance the academic exchanges of experience at home and abroad.

At the academic reports session of the forum, Zhao Qizheng made a report titled On the Mission and Wisdom of Press Spokesman. Prof. Tong Bing of Fudan University, Yan Sanjiu, Dean of School of Communication of ECNU and Professor Fritz Cropp also elaborated on their own understanding and thinking respectively on the issues like the cross-cultural communication strategy on the background of globalization, contemporary China and strategic communication, as well as the strategic dialogues.

 


Ditinguished guests of the forum reviewed the past 30 years of China’s news publishing system

 

During the later round table forum, Zhao Qizheng, Wang Xuming, Zou Jianhua, secretary of the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Li Jie, former Deputy Director of News Center and Publicity Department of Ministry of Health, and Dr. Zhang Yuyan from School of Journalism of University of Missouri reviewed the pas 30 years of China’s news publishing system with emphasis on hot issues of public concern.
