2013 Embedded China (Shanghai) is held in Shanghai on May 8.
On May 8, the 2013 Embedded China (Shanghai) witnessed the announcement of permission of Ministry of Science and Technology to set up National Research Center of High-performance Embedded Technology jointly by ECNU and No.32 Research Institute of China Electronic Technology Corporation Group (CETC), which indicates that the Center is officially settled in Shanghai.
Academician He Jifeng hosts the opening ceremony of 2013 Embedded China (Shanghai). At the ceremony, the news of setting up National Research Center of High-performance Embedded Technology is announced.
Co-sponsored by Ministry of Science and Technology,Shanghai Municipal Government, ECNU and No.32 Research Institute of CETC, the construction project of the National Research Center will be completed in three years. And with a floor area of 7,200 square meters, the Center will be developed into an industrial park of national high-performance embedded system in Putuo district, Shanghai. You Xiaoming, researcher and head of No.32 Research Institute of CETC will serve as the director of the Center and Academician He Jifeng, an ECNU lifetime professor,as its chief scientist.

On the basis of the Self-control Computing Research Institute of No.32 Research Institute of CETC, and with the collaborative efforts of ECNU in high-performance technology, personnel training, domestic and international exchange as well as Shanghai Software Center’s work in public service, the National Research Center will gain certain economic benefits from completion of major national engineering and technical projects, transformation of new technologies, and technical consultation, etc.
High-end equipment manufacturing industry is one of the seven fields in the strategic emerging industry proposed in The National “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”. Intelligent manufacturing equipment, whose core technology is embedded technology, is an important part of high-end gear manufacture. But the technical basis, product quality and security system of the present embedded technology in China are far below the safety standard requirements of such safety-critical system, which blocks the independent development of China’s high-end gear manufacture industry.
