ECNU Holds Interview for Free Teacher Trainees

      

ECNU held its annual enrollment interview for free teacher trainees on March 30-31, and 300 interviewees from Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang attended the interview. 

 

“To be a qualified teacher, one has to have good speech delivery skills, psychology and health,” said Zhou Hong, Director of ECNU Admission Office. According to Zhou, each of the interviewees had to make a 3-minute speech to a 20-person jury made up of university professors and high school principals, as well as other interviewees in the same group. The interviewee should make a brief self-introduction, explain why he/she wants to a teacher, and show his/her advantages of being a teacher in the speech.

 

  

 

After the public speech, each interviewee attended an interview with two professors for about 10 minutes. The interviewers raised questions concerning career choice, cognition, attitude of life, and social responsibility etc. In this stage, the interviewers cared more of the interviewees’ communication strain capacity than the answers to the questions. In addition, all the interviewees had to pass a physical quality test.

 

 

According to the Admission Office, 150 interviewees can pass the interview and the final result will be announced in early April.
