01/07/2013

The project of "Continuous Service of 17 Years: ECNU Volunteer Tutoring Team" was awarded first prize in Competition of Outstanding Achievements of National Campus Culture Construction among thousands of competitors.

According to organizers of the competition, it was the third time ECNU won the honor and the University had won the honor two times in 2008 and 2010 respectively.

ECNU Volunteer Tutoring Team was founded in 1995. After development of 17 years, the number of the team members has reached more than 100. Besides normal students as its majority, the team members also include some graduate students. The service provided by the team has not only satisfied the needs of children from poor families, families of migrant workers and families having kids with mental retardation, but also provided opportunities for volunteers to develop themselves with more channels to return to the society with their knowledge, love and care.

With great recognition and praise from the society, the project has become a window for the University's teacher education to serve the community, a typical case for campus culture to step into community, and a stage for students to develop themselves even since its early stages.
